The course is aimed to train the educated youths of our society, in the area of agriculture biotechnology to empower them with skills and knowledge, and to develop themselves as an agri-enterpreneur. After successful completion of the course, the students will be offered internship for one year under this institute. At the time of internship program they able to understand about the good agriculture practice among the village level farming community in different districts of West Bengal. The course is also under consideration to be recognized the MANAGE (National Institute of Agriculture Extension Management, Govt. of India), so that the students could be benefitted for getting opportunities under scheme of business development.
The course could help aspirant students in developing agri-enterprises by themselves through establishing a network of farmers (initially starting with a cluster of good number farmers covering some villages in their area of interest). The enterprise will have a cluster resource centre where all kinds of knowledge materials (leaflets, booklets, manuals etc.) and agri-inputs (seed, bio-fertilizers, biopesticides, vermicompost etc.) will be available to the farming community. The registered farmers will be offered technological services and inputs to implement good agriculture practice / organic farming practices to generate safe produce i.e. food and feed for healthy life as well as healthy environment. The enterprise could develop marketing linkages with the retailers / cooperatives or may arrange direct selling of the agri-produce. There would be scope of export of agri-produce particularly for cash crops earning better income to the enterprise. The business could be expanded through inclusion of more clusters covering more number of farmers based on successful management practice. The business opportunities include following components:
